Split Mountain Garden Center started as a small wholesale company specializing in perennials and herbs. Our first greenhouse was built in 1989, and we added a new greenhouse every year for several years. Popular demand led to construction of the current garden center in 1999, and we opened at the current location on Highway 40 in May, 2000. Over time we discontinued the wholesale part of the company and now focus on meeting the needs of our local community.
We try to meet all of our local needs by providing a good selection of annuals, perennials, houseplants, trees, and shrubs. We have a special focus on providing fruiting trees, shrubs, and vines that are hardy for our cold winters.

We're members of Master Nursery Garden Centers, a group of independent garden centers with 700 members throughout the country.
