Bright crimson red flowers. Grows 3' tall and 2' wide. They usually bloom from mid-May to mid-June. They smell great and look like a small shrub. Very adaptable to most soils. They are also fairly drought tolerant after the blooming season is over. To have lots of color and flowering, don't plant them very deeply. Peony roots should be planted no deeper than 1-2" below the top of the soil. Peonies also enjoy a slight mulch covering in the fall the decomposes quickly as they emerge in the spring.
